Strawberry is an angiosperm dikotylon vegetable and belongs to the family of rosacea. It is rich in vitamin C and contains substances with beneficial effects on eyesight. The quality of Greek strawberry is considered to be very high. In the Greek market several varieties are used and in large proportion of Greek land strawberry has started to be cultivated. It is consumed as fresh fruit, but is also used in baking, as can be done jam or compote. Geographically strawberry is grown in Peloponnese in the prefecture of Ilia and smaller quantities in Aitoloakarnania.
